Humboldt Child Care Stabilization Fund Programs
In the spring of 2022, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors voted to allocate $4.86 million of State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) funding to support our child care industry. The Accountability Team, comprised of local child care experts and community leaders has developed several programs to distribute these funds in ways that will make a lasting impact on our child care industry, the essential people who work in that industry, and our local economy. Starting in September 2022, we will be rolling out these programs. Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until that program's allotted funds are used.Â

Facility Improvement Forgivable Loans
Improves efficiency, safety, and learning for existing child care facilities in Humboldt County. This would include funding for building requirement changes, equipment and materials, and/or bridge funding as programs absorb reductions in revenue, when licensing requires more staff and fewer children to be served in infant/toddler programs.
Loan Forgiveness Amount: Up to $10,000
Parent Subsidy Program
The Parent Subsidy program addresses the reality of high child care costs faced by Humboldt families. By providing $1,200 per child to offset the cost of child care for eligible families we hope to alleviate some of the cost burden felt by families.
Amount: $1,200
